My Radio Program

Rock of Ages, my weekly program on KFOK Community Radio, a radio station in Georgetown, in the heart of California’s Gold Country, is not your typical classic-rock program that features the same tired old hits over and over again, like you hear on commercial radio.

Every Thursday, 6–8 pm, I play a bewildering variety of music from the golden age of rock — the early 1960s to the early 1970s: obscure singles by legendary artists and groups, early efforts by famous performers with their first bands, additional songs by one-hit wonders, tunes from good bands that never made it to the big time, and great music from rock bands from all over the world, mixed in with a few popular songs from the era.

During a given program, chances are you’ve heard of only about half the bands and heard fewer than half of the songs—and it’s likely been many years since you’ve heard a lot of them. The rest are probably new to you, and at least a few are going to excite you.

Rock ‘n’ roll, garage rock, protopunk, pop rock, psychedelic rock, progressive rock, folk rock, country rock, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal—you name it, I probably play it. Listen at SHOUTcast.
